Thulium (Tm) in plasma

Thulium layers its colours: a white ring wrapped in rose, sitting over an amber glow that pools in the bottom of the flask. It is the rarest of the stable lanthanides, scarce enough that it was historically the expensive one to get hold of, which makes it a slightly extravagant thing to seal in glass and light up for a photograph.
