Nitrogen glows warm orange with a red heart, and like chlorine it never quite forms a proper ring: the light pools through the flask rather than closing into a torus. The colour is the first positive system of the N2 molecule, the same bands that give aurora its lower red-orange fringe. Nitrogen belongs to the short list of fills that fight the discharge rather than carry it, so getting even this much out of it took some persuading.
