Krypton (Kr) in plasma

Krypton shows two faces in the same flask. Wound up, the ring is a hard blue-white bright enough to wash out the glass around it; backed off, it settles into a soft pink-mauve with a lilac haze filling the vessel. Its strongest lines sit in the blue and violet, and the weaker red-orange group only wins the eye once the discharge runs cool. In some runs the ring also beads into a necklace of evenly spaced clumps, the same standing striations argon shows in the torus.
