Hydrogen (H) in plasma

Hydrogen does not draw a ring at all: it floods the whole flask an even, saturated magenta with a white-hot ball sitting in the middle of it. The colour is the most textbook thing in this collection, the Balmer series doing exactly what the diagrams promise: red H-alpha at 656 nm over blue-green H-beta at 486, which the eye adds into magenta, with violet H-gamma underneath. In the brightest frame the core washes out to near white.
