Germanium runs pale and iridescent: a white ring with a violet-blue heart, and the whole flask shelled in nested layers that shift like oil on water. The violet is germanium's strongest line at 422.7 nm, sitting where the eye is already losing sensitivity, which is part of why the glow reads as pearl rather than as a colour. In one vessel the ring gives up on closing and wanders as a bright cord instead.
